March 29, 2008- Volunteer gathering at Angelino's Restaurant in Vernon, CT from 12-3 p.m. We will be sharing our craft fundraising ideas for the next season of craft fairs. Bring your smiles and your ideas too! We look forward to seeing EVERYONE! It was so nice to have met ones last time in October. I hope to see more. Please RSVP before March 23rd to 860-742-9518 and ask for Michele. Thank You and God Bless! Even if you haven't started on a blanket yet please come and see what we are all about! We had a great lunch there weren't a lot of people but we still got to connect. Which is always nice. There was Stacey, Kelley, Carol, Debbie, Karla, me and my youngest. We will be making dish/face cloths, penguins, and coasters for our craft fairs this year. YEA!!

 

December 1, 2007- Craft Fair at Coventry High School from 9am- 3pm We will also be selling the butterflies, penguins, hair scrunchies, and I have made some kitchen scrubbies for pots and pans that look like flowers, way too cute! Come and see the fun! We had way too much fun on Saturday! I really needed some more sleep but all the terrific new people that we met made it all (but I really did sleep good that night!). We did terrific!! Linda once again surprised me with her talent, when she dropped off some more big penguins she had also made little ones! They sold before 11 a.m.! Kelley was there all day my neighbor and friend Debbie helped out for a few hours also. In the afternoon Elijah was there with a friend and Karla also came to help. I have come up with a few other ideas for next year. If you have any ideas please let me know! I love to hear them. Have a terrific Holiday Season! And BE BLESSED!!

November 16-17th 2007 Craft Fair at First Congregational Church in Coventry, CT we will be selling crocheted butterflies, penguins, and hair scrunchies. We will also have our NEW embroidered items also for special order. FUNDRAISING EVENT We had a terrific time at the craft fair! Kelley, Karla, Elijah (my youngest), my husband and I were bringing is boxes of things to sell. The most popular was the crocheted penguins that Linda Lyzun put together they are adorable! Anna Serafini and my friend Jamie and my son Elijah were the helpers on Saturday. Jamie walked upstairs with penguins and was my spokesperson for us. She is so funny! We look forward to doing more fairs next season.

·    Size:  Min. Crib – 28”w x 52”l or in centimeters 71.12w x 132.08l
                    Max. Twin – 39”w x 75”l or in centimeters 99.06w x 190.5L
·   Yarn:   No wool accepted due to allergies & comfort.
·    Brand recommendations:   
o   Red Heart – Super Saver
o   Caron – Simply Soft
o   Lion (no wool)
o   TLC
 
·    Blankets MUST BE assembled, stored & transported in a smoke free environment.
·    Blankets should be washed in hot water to minimize allergens.
·    All ends should be finished.
  • We accept crocheted, knitted or fleece tied blankets.
·    Colors – The brighter the better – have fun!
 

Chapters Information

1)        1) Chapter Coordinators MUST be attending a church, and must follow the guidelines  for praying over the blankets before they are distributed.
 
2) A letter from your Pastor or Religious Leader and also references will be     necessary; we take this step very seriously.
    
3) Chapter Coordinators MUST be 21 years old or older
      
4) Chapter Coordinators MUST store & transport yarn & blankets in a smoke free environment.
       
5) Chapter Coordinators MUST have e-mail
       
6) The cost to start is $125.00 it includes all necessary handbook and paperwork as we help you start your own Chapter.
       
7) Chapter Coordinators are in charge of their own volunteers and are the main contact person for that chapter.
       
8) We are a 100% all-volunteer organization (no paid employees). A chapter coordinator is the representative of Crocheting Hearts in a given area, called a chapter. She is responsible for all administrative duties pertaining to the chapter. These duties include among other things, finding volunteers, establishing relationships with recipient facilities, and Quality Control. It is the policy and mission of Crocheting Hearts to donate NEW, HANDMADE, WASHABLE (NO
wool yarn) blankets and afghans that are of good quality. It is the responsibility of the Chapter Coordinator to donate blankets to children that meet Crocheting Hearts’ standards.
       
9) New Crocheting Hearts chapters are only opened in areas where there are no existing chapters. Please check with nearby chapters to see which areas they cover, it might be yours!
       
10) All new applications must be approved by our committee. The decision is based in part on area need and proximity to existing chapters. In order to conserve resources,
we may choose to limit the number of new chapters opened.

Apply labels to bottom right corner of blankets.

Guidelines for Prayer Over Blankets:

 
·        Chapter coordinator will transport blankets to and from sanctuary.
·        Each blanket must be able to be touched and all labels should be visible. (see picture)

  

 

·        Blankets MUST BE in the sanctuary for a minimum of one week.
·        Every blanket must be anointed with oil.
